Korean In-Laws Visit Australia - Part 2

The next day we headed into Brisbane so Woon Young and Hyung Suk could get a feel for what cities were like in Australia. We were going to meet up with Jihyeon's sister who is studying English in Brisbane, but she wasn't feeling well. Oh well, we had a great day without you Jisun :P

Right smack bang in the middle of Brisbane is a large public space known as Southbank. There are restaurants, market stalls, street performers, museums, the state library, art galleries, theatres, gardens, picnic areas, public BBQ's and last but not least, a large lagoon that is free to swim in.

We wondered along the Brisbane River for a bit and had a rest in the shade.

Continued walking under the bougainvillea arch, stopping to watch street performers as we went.

Another photo in front of the public lagoon that is free to swim in.

We then jumped on the ferry (called a city cat) and cruised up and down the river for about an hour. It's quite cheap too! Only about $3.

We then got off the city cat and wondered around the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens.

We found a nice place to sit...

and have a snack.

Most comfortable chair ever!

Tired, we then hopped on the train and headed home again.

Continue to part 3 here.
